Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is equipment designed to protect the wearer. Every emergency kit and CERT kit should include PPE. In your home it is best to store PPE supplies in multiple locations in case part of your dwelling is inaccessible. Personal protection equipment includes:

• Hard hat or helmet
• Goggles
• Masks (N95 or better)
• Gloves: heavy work gloves AND latex-type gloves
• Sturdy work boots
