An evacuation can occur at any time. There are several causes for an evacuation including a chemical spill due to a tank truck accident, train derailment, etc. Spilled toxic material may necessitate a very hasty evacuation. In this situation you will have VERY little time to evacuate. You could get a knock on your door or a squad car could drive through your neighborhood ordering to leave NOW.

What would you take and where would you go? You might have a few minutes to grab a few things before leaving. When you leave where would you stay? If you are prepared then you could grab your Bugout Bag and, at a minimum, you would have food, water, and some shelter options. If you have a larger backpack ready then you would have a tent (or better shelter), sleeping bag, and backpacking stove.
